Artist: Buck Label: Indie Time: 4/ 12:20 Buck's a ska band from Michigan that has been playing around the WI-IL-MI area a lot lately. When their demo disk fell into my hands, I was interested to hear it. Musically, there are lots of nice friendly ska-core tunes with a very melodic side. There's no punk edge here, but there are some rap undertones in the vocals which are well done. These horns play well together, very much like a high school marching band, and they are all marching in the same direction. The only drawback is that the horns seem to be dampened--they aren't brassy enough and could do with a better mix. I'm looking forward to hearing more from this band. By Shari Lloyd |
