Behold a Pale Horse Artist: Saviour Machine Label: Massacre Records Time: 4 tracks/15:54 Saviour Machine fans, attention! If you've been looking for a way to introduce your friends to the band, then this is the disc to get. The Pale Horse single consists of the song "Behold a Pale Horse" from Legend Part 2, plus two different mixes of the same, and a bonus track that was cut from Legend part 2 due to time constraints. The disc starts out with the original single from the album, then goes to the interesting "Pale Horse Ego Mix," which consists of some horns, funky piano, and synthesizer noises. The third track, the "Pale Horse classical mix", is just that, featuring only piano, some strings, and Clayton's excellent vocals. This is the highlight of the single, showcasing the wonderful vocals of Clayton at their best. The last track, "New World Order," the missing song from Legend Part 2, doesn't really impress that much. It's easy to see why the band would choose to cut that song if one had to go. While the massive Legend 1 & 2 might overwhelm those who are unfamiliar with Saviour Machine, this single provides an excellent glimpse of what the band is about and can do. If you buy this for the missing track, you'll probably be disappointed, but the classical mix of "Pale Horse" alone makes this single well worth the money for fans. By Joe Rockstroh
